Left in a frenzy
He can run the forty faster than it takes me to write this sentence (7.25 seconds to 4.25 seconds). His test results turn heads everywhere he goes, most recently at the Army combine in San Antonio. His legend is already growing, with the offers sure to follow.
But, Columbia (Mo.) Hickman wide receiver Wesley Leftwich is still somewhat of an unknown at this point. He's always been fast -- "They (coaches) told me I was fast when I was little," he'll say -- but track speed and football speed don't necessarily go hand-in-hand. After a junior season that saw Leftwich only touch the ball 29 total times on offense, he's hoping a strong finish in Columbia will prove he's more than a workout warrior.
