Moe looks for a do-over

PowerMizzou.com Sep. 5, 2009, was supposed to be the start of a magical first season at Missouri for T.J. Moe.
In the past three months, he'd gone from a record-setting prep quarterback to a collegiate wide receiver. Sure, a nagging foot injury slowed him down during August practices, but here he was, standing on the sideline at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis. Moe considered it a homecoming game -- although St. Louis is 45 minutes east of O'Fallon, his hometown, it's in that zone where claiming ownership is acceptable.
In the second quarter, Moe had his first chance to impress. As Missouri was driving to the Illinois 23, up 13-3 with halftime approaching, Blaine Gabbert targeted Moe on third-and-11. The freshman receiver was wide open, and the reception would have given Missouri a first down.
The pass hit him in the chest, dropping to the turf to force a 41-yard field goal by Grant Ressel.
