Big 12 got the big shaft
The Big East set a record with 11 teams in the tournament
nearly as many teams as the Big 12 has total. Meanwhile, the Big 12 got the collective shaft from the Selection Committee.
"I guess it is what it is," Mike Anderson said. "We thought we played a very good schedule, did well in the non-conference schedule. Not as well as we'd like to have done in conference play, but the Big 12 was a tough conference, especially on the road."
Much has been made of Colorado's snub, and that was the major thing that stood out to Missouri players on Sunday evening as well. The Buffs beat the Tigers 89-76 in Boulder in the conference opener for both teams and had as many quality wins as any Big 12 team outside of Texas and Kansas.
But it wasn't just CU that felt slighted. Texas slid to a four seed, A&M to a 7 and Missouri to an 11, all at least one slot below what most prognosticators were calling for late Sunday afternoon.
"I guess they didn't think the Big 12 was as good as I thought it was," Bowers said.
