Norvell Chasing Talented Texas Duo
Last summer when 2013 Wylie (Texas) East wide receiver Quan Jones travelled to Oklahoma's summer camp with his teammate Marcell Ateman and each player's father they had hopes of interacting with Sooner co-offensive coordinator, and receivers coach Jay Norvell. However their one-day visit just happened to coincide with the nation's No. 1 wide receiver in the class of 2012 Dorial Green-Beckham.
Not surprisingly Norvell was forced to choose the player closer to National Signing Day a decision that Jones and Ateman have both said they understood. On their return to Norman the fourth-year Sooner assistant attempted to make up for some lost time with the 6-foot-4, 195-pound Jones.
"The trip was pretty good, we had a lot of fun, and enjoyed the game too," Jones said. "I can't lie, watching them, I was thinking about catching touchdowns."
