Raridon getting more familiar with Iowa
West Des Moines Valley defensive lineman Sam Raridon was the first in-state prospect to receive an offer from the Hawkeyes in the Class of 2013 and was among those at Iowa's junior day on Sunday. For the 6-foot-2, 256-pound Raridon, who has been to Iowa City a couple of times before, the visit provided an opportunity to get more familiar with the Iowa coaching staff.
"Nothing was really new, but it was good to see all of the facilities again and talk to all of the coaches," said Raridon. "I talked to Coach Ferentz, Coach Morgan, and Coach Woods, and basically we just got to know one another a little better."
The junior day gave Raridon his first chance to sit down and talk with LeVar Woods, who has taken over defensive line responsibilities since Rick Kaczenski left for Nebraska. The Class of 2013 prospect felt like it was a good meeting and does not expect much to change with Iowa's defense.
"He really had kind of the same ideas as Kaczenski had and he seems like a nice guy," Raridon said. "I like him."
