Cotton talks official visit
Austin Hooper's addition to the 2013 Stanford recruiting class ensures that the Card will sign one of the best tight end classes in the nation. And with Durham Smythe still very high on the Card, Stanford's 2013 tight end class could rival the program's 2009 tight end class for quality and depth.
One of the Card's touted tight end recruit, Idaho star Eric Cotton, welcomes being part of such a talented position group.
"I look at it as competition," Cotton said. "Of course they're my teammates, but in practice we need to compete. We need to get the best out of each other and whoever is the best tight end coming out, they're going to get the job."
But Cotton's recent trip to Palo Alto for the Card's big visit weekend was less about competition and more about developing camaraderie with his future teammates and fellow 2013 Stanford commits.
