Izzo offers rising in-state senior
Jaylen Johnson (6-9, 220) received a scholarship offer from Michigan State on Saturday after a strong two-day showing with his high school team at the annual Tom Izzo Spartan Shootout.
The 6-foot-9, 210-pound Class of 2014 forward has been one of the top performers for his summer team Dorian's Pride, which also features MSU recruits AJ Turner (2015) and Josh Jackson (2016).
"Jaylen has a chance to be a real good player," said Dorian's Pride director Chris Vaughn-Dawkins. "He has over 20 high-major offers. I am getting new calls for him every day."
Johnson is ranked No. 97 in the Rivals150 for the Class of 2014.
