KU runs away from Detroit
Coming off a short break for the Holidays, No. 10 ranked Kansas (11-2, 0-0) hoped to jump out to a strong start against the visitors from Detroit (3-9, 0-0). Led by Mario Chalmers' 22 points, the Jayhawks came away with the 63-43 win Thursday night. KU looked good early, but went ice cold for most of the first half. Poor shooting plagued the Jayhawks until a late second-half surge finished off the pesky Titans.
Coach Bill Self was worried about the lack of practice before Thursday's match up with Detroit, which may have caused KU's offensive woes. Luckily for Self, sophomore Chalmers showed up for his second straight 22-point game.
