The losing continues for Arizona
Arizona continued its downward spiral Thursday as it was defeated by Washington State at home, 72-66.
This game marked the Wildcats' sixth loss in their last eight games and could further the case for their not making the NCAA Tournament this year. For the Cougars, Thursday's win marks the first time in history that they have completed a season sweep of Arizona.
The Wildcats looked good early on despite troubles with the shot clock and were able to open up an early 11-4 lead on a Chase Budinger lay-up at the 15:30 mark.
Budinger looked very aggressive early end everyone on the floor for Arizona was moving well without the ball and passing well to find the open man.
Most of the Wildcats' early points came underneath the basket but when they tried to open up and shoot jumpers their chances of scoring decreased drastically, especially from behind the three-point line.
The Cougars clawed their way slowly back after Arizona led for most of the half and took a 21-20 lead with 7:15 remaining.
