Letting the Good Times Roll
Paris, Texas - They say in recruiting that making a final decision is the most difficult part of things. For Paris, Texas potential five-star offensive tackle Stephen Good the decision may be now considered secondary to the act of actually making the commitment. While most simply assume coaches sit around waiting for a prospect, particularly one of Good's stature, to call and make his decision known.
However, sometimes coaches like Sooner head man Bob Stoops simply have unavoidable obligations like Alumni meetings. Which is exactly where the Sooners ninth-year head coach found himself as Good tried to pass on the big news of his commitment to Oklahoma.
The 6-foot-5, 290-pound Good is considered by many to be the nation's top offensive tackle prospect and admits to a lifelong admiration of the other half of his final two teams, Texas.
However, at the end of the day Good says it was simply a matter of comfort with one campus and coaching staff.
