Even though he only weighs in at 5-foot-8 and 165-pounds, North Mesquite High School product Daymond Patterson certainly possesses the athletic ability to make an impact at the division one level. Further proof of that exists in his holding of scholarship offers from both Illinois and Rice.

Understandably so, the Owls and the Fighting Illini are currently at the top of Patterson's list although he claims to still be open for other schools to recruit him, including Oklahoma State.
