Jake McDonough recently received his first scholarship offer of the recruiting process. To the surprise of the 6-foot-5, 225-pound strongside defensive end from Valley High School in West Des Moines, Iowa, was somewhat surprised when the Kansas Jayhawks were the first school to extend a scholarship offer. It should come as no surprise that McDonough was more than excited about the development.

Despite just one scholarship offer early in his recruitment, there is no question that McDonough has plenty of options to consider. During his junior season at Valley High School, he was credited with 63 tackles, nine sacks, one put block and three forced fumbles.
