So the fireworks start AFTER spring practice.
Texas Tech football workouts in March and April were noteworthy more for their smoothness and lack of major breaking stories than anything else. Shoot, the wild and kooky weather was just as remarkable as anything that occurred on the practice field.
And just when you thought it was safe to go outside, the post-spring two-deep chart is unveiled for the football public. It makes for interesting reading to say the least.

That does not mean that there are not contested races for first team honors, however. On the contrary, summer workouts will provide a plethora of donnybrooks on either side of the line of scrimmage.
On offense it will be very interesting to see whether current starting right guard Stephen Hamby, a former walk-on who had a very solid spring, will be able to hold off ultra-talented Brandon Carter who sat out most practices with a back issue (not of Playboy, I might add).
