Mark Mangino and his staff continue to make a strong push for Jake McDonough, the 6-foot-5, 225-pound strongside defensive end from Valley High School in West Des Moines, Iowa. As it stands right now, KU is the only school that's extended a scholarship to McDonough, but a number of other programs are showing quite a bit of interest in the Iowa native.

McDonough, who was credited with 63 tackles and nine sacks during his junior season, is already somewhat familiar with the Kansas campus. He was in Lawrence for KU's spring game and was more than impressed with what he saw.
