Plans could change for D'Cunha
Nathan D'Cunha was originally expected to graduate from Santa Barbara City College next December with three years to play two.
But his plans could, and likely will, change.
"My situation is a bit complicated at the moment," explained the 6-foot-7, 308-pound offensive tackle. "I can't really talk about it much because I am waiting on the ruling of my eligibility from the NCAA right now. It looks like I will be able to join a Division-1 program next semester."
D'Cunha currently holds scholarship offers from San Diego State, Tulsa and Nevada. He has drawn recruiting looks from a number of other programs.
"I took an unofficial visit to San Diego State," D'Cunha said. "They have awesome facilities. Their football offices are really nice; they have a Hall-of-Fame in it. And their coaches are really nice."
D'Cunha is originally from Australia, where he graduated from St. Gregory High School in 2001. He joined the work force for a few years before taking enrolling at Santa Barbara City College.
"I played in Australia and I went to Germany to play in the World Games," D'Cunha recently told JCGridiron.com Publisher Brad Hoiseth. "I went up against some NFL Europe guys there and did pretty well. Some of the scouts told me to come over here and play junior college football."
D'Cunha is currently 22 years old.
What separates him from most football players? "I work really hard," D'Cunha expressed. "I show up every day and try to get better. I have a good attitude and I just love to play football."
