New name on the board?
The recruiting board is wide open at safety for the Buckeyes after Youngstown (Ohio) Cardinal Mooney safety Dan McCarthy selected the Irish over Ohio State. One player that might come into focus is a player that the Buckeyes knew about several years ago but just at a different position.
Jerry Jones is currently enrolling at Hargrave Military Academy after playing his high school ball in Linden (N.J.) previously. The former quarterback took some time off to focus on basketball and now is back with football and making the move from offense to defense and several schools are interested in the 6-foot-2, 188-pounder, including the Buckeyes.
Ohio State, Maryland, Rutgers and N.C. State are showing interest.
