Penn State added commitment No. 9 to its class of 2008 on Monday when Newtown Square (Pa.) Marple Newtown three-star defensive lineman Pete Massaro verbally pledged to the Nittany Lions.

Massaro's head coach, Pete Gionta confirmed the story in the The Philadelphia Inquirer with BlueWhiteIllustrated.com on Tuesday morning.

Massaro picked the Nittany Lions over offers from Georgia Tech, Syracuse, Pittsburgh and Boston College, among others.
