Kansas survives on the road
No. 3 ranked Kansas (11-0; 0-0) legitimized itself as a true Final Four contender on Tuesday night. Facing an ACC team, Georgia Tech, on the road, the Jayhawks took a commanding 13-point lead in the second half. However, a gutsy run by the Yellow Jackets trimmed the margin to just three with a few seconds remaining. Sophomore guard Sherron Collins sealed the deal for KU, as his steal and lay-up as time was running off the clock gave Bill Self's squad a 71-66 road victory.
It certainly wasn't the prettiest performance by Self and Kansas. There was a time when it looked as if the Jayhawks would simply cruise to their 11 straight victory to open up the regular season.
