Jenkins ends magical season
Gilmer (TX) offensive lineman Daniel Jenkins started this season with the goal of winning a state title. Now that the season is over, Jenkins said that even though they didn't take the title, he was very happy with the result of his senior year.
The new year brought one more opportunity to play with high school players for Jenkins who traveled to Mississippi for the senior All-American bowl. He said the experience was a great one to get.
Outside of talking with players in Mississippi, Jenkins said that he had stayed in touch with Matt Eberflus about how everything was going for them both. He said that in the past few days, the two had been able to nail down when he would finally be on the Missouri campus.
While down in Mississippi, Jenkins enjoyed getting the chance to sit down and watch his future team take part in the Cotton Bowl. He said watching the game continued proving why he chose to pick the Tigers in the first place.
The Tigers' 12-2 season has been a relief to everyone who has watched, but perhaps to no recruit more than Jenkins. He said that when he first made his choice, people weren't sure, but after this season, Jenkins said he felt validated to everyone.
