KU stuns UNC to advance to title game
Kansas couldn't have picked a better time to put together its most impressive first half performance of the year. In defeating North Carolina, 84-66, to advance to Monday nights National Championship game, the Jayhawks led by as many as 28 points during the first 20 minutes. While the Tar Heels cut the lead to 17 at the half, Bill Self's squad made enough key plays down the stretch and, for most of the game, simply dominated North Carolina. Up next for Kansas is Monday showdown against Memphis.
For much of the first half of Saturday night's second semifinal showdown between Kansas and North Carolina, the Jayhawks could simply do no wrong. Darrell Arthur got the scoring started for Self's squad, as he converted in the paint area.
