Kansas, Memphis will battle for National Title
From the minute Kansas (36-3), the No. 1 seed in the Midwest Region, lost to UCLA in the Elite Eight last season, the goal of this years team was quite clear. The Jayhawks wanted to became the first team since 1988 to hang a National Championship banner inside Allen Fieldhouse. Kansas will get the opportunity to do just that on Monday night. In defeating the North Carolina Tar Heels, 84-66 on Saturday, Kansas advanced to Monday night's title game and will face the Memphis Tigers (38-1).
For much of the first half, Kansas could do nothing wrong against North Carolina. At one point, the Jayhawks scored 18 straight points and led, 40-12. The Tar Heels closed to gap to 17 at halftime.
