Carolina shooting guard will visit BC

EagleAction.com BC is still very much on the radar of 2009 recruit Earnest Ross from Cary (N.C.) Panther Creek. The shooting guard plans to make a visit to BC this summer.
"I like Boston College. It's a really good school," said Ross. "I really like some of the players that have come out of BC in the past, they've put players in the NBA and are known for producing hard workers. I like to get up and down the court and I like their style of play."
Ross is a little bit of a late bloomer. In fact, he didn't start playing organized basketball until he was a high school freshman. So when did Ross realize he had his special talent?
"My high school coach put me on varsity and that was the first thing that caught my attention right there." said Ross.
Despite playing for only three years, Ross has learned to play three different positions. He's played point guard, shooting guard and small forward, so clearly he's pretty versatile. That makes sense, because he said his game is most like Larry Hughes's (Chicago Bulls) because, "I like to defend and I like to score."
Another good sign for schools recruiting Ross is his high confidence level in his abilities with the game on the line. "When it's coming down to crunch time I like having the ball in my hands," Ross said.
Ross has a busy summer lined up for himself, as he'll be attending the Chris Paul Backcourt Academy and also Reebok U. Besides attending those camps, Ross will be visiting a handful of schools to try and narrow down which school he'll attend.
"My list is pretty long," he said. "I have offers from East Carolina and UNC-Wilmington and I'm interested in North Carolina, NC State, Virginia, Clemson, Virginia Tech, Texas, Arizona, Florida State, Wake Forest and some others. That's in addition to BC."
When asked where BC fell in his list of top schools, Ross was diplomatic.
"They're all pretty much equal right now. I'm not looking to narrow it down anytime soon," he said. "But I'm really interested in BC right now though, I really like them. They want me as either a 2 or 3 and they like my versatility. I'm thinking I'll wait until next April to sign with someone unless I get an offer I really like a lot before November."
Ross hopes to visit North Carolina, Clemson, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Florida State and Boston College this summer. He's realistic about his interest in a few schools.
"I know UNC, Texas, Arizona and schools like that would be a longshot, I'm staying level-headed," he said. "But as long as they tell my coaches they're interested, I'll keep them on my list. But playing for any of the
