McKenzie making move to defense
With depth at defensive end becoming a big issue and less than two weeks remaining before the opener, Auburn made the decision Monday to move tight end Gabe McKenzie to strongside d-end.
A junior, McKenzie played both offense and defense in high school but has been used exclusively at tight end since joining the Tigers and redshirting in 2005.
Auburn's depth at strongside end was razor thin behind starter Michael Goggans. Junior college transfer Raven Gray is progressing slowly after offseason knee surgery while redshirt freshman A.J. Greene still has work to do in order to earn a spot in the playing rotation.
