Video: Dantonio, players excited about Capital One bid
EAST LANSING - Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio and senior captains Javon Ringer, Brian Hoyer, and Justin Kershaw each expressed their excitement about their team's Capital One Game bid and the possibility of facing a team from the SEC of Georgia's caliber.
Ringer is excited about playing on the same field as fellow Doak Walker finalist Knowshon Moreno, while Brian Hoyer is eagerly amped about testing himself a top quarterback like Stafford. Kershaw thinks his defensive line will have their hands full with a Georgia front that reminds him of Penn State's offensive line.
Michigan State played in Capital One Bowl in 2000. At the time it was called the Citrus Bowl. That game featured the No. 9 ranked Spartans against No. 10 ranked Florida.
Michigan State won that game under interim coach Bobby Williams
