Much anticipated offer goes out
Chase Rome is considered one of the top defensive line prospects coming out of Missouri for 2010. At 6-3, 275 lbs, Rome is big enough to play defensive tackle. But with a 4.7-second forty, he's always quick enough to rush the passer from outside.
His size, speed and talent have caused schools from across the nation to take notice. Already with offers from Oklahoma, Kansas State, Wisconsin and South Carolina, the Rock Bridge high school star felt there was one glaring omission to his offer sheet:
What about the hometown Tigers?
Well, Rome - and Tiger fans - don't have to worry anymore. Missouri offered the Columbia star today.
"At first, when they didn't offer and other schools were, I was like, 'This is a bummer,'" Rome told PowerMizzou.com minutes after he received the offer Wednesday. "But I understand now. They have a really long evaluation period, and they need to have every coach sign off on a prospect. So, I had my priorities, but they have theirs, as well. I'm just glad they finally offered."
