Winning a different way
Shooting comes and goes. On any given night, the iron may be unkind. So Frank Haith does not want to focus on how his team shoots the ball.
"You can play hard and still struggle a little bit. I thought we played really, really hard at Auburn," Haith said. "We didn't really shoot the ball well, but we gave ourselves a chance because we played hard. Alabama game, I thought probably was our best game. We're still not shooting the ball great yet, but I think that will come. I think we're a good shooting team."
Missouri is third in the SEC in shooting percentage over the course of the season. But through four league games, the Tigers are making just 38.4% of their shots, which ranks 12th in the league. From three-point range, the Tigers are hitting just 31.3%, ninth in the conference.
The Tigers have scored more than 70 points just once, since December 7th. Oddly, that output came in a 78-75 loss to Vanderbilt. But even with the limited offensive production, the Tigers are 5-3 in that stretch.
