Biere excited about the future
When Mark Mangino and his staff first began preparing for their recruiting efforts in the class of 2008, the tight end position was a top priority. As it turned out, the Kansas coaching staff hit a grand slam addressing the position. Two if the nations most elite tight end prospects signed with the Jayhawks on Wednesday. One being Tim Biere, the 6-foot-4, 226-pound prospect from Westside High School in Omaha, Neb.
For Biere, the No. 5 ranked player in the state of Nebraska, the recruiting process didn't quite pan out as many expected. In all, the three-star prospect had scholarship offers from Kansas, Kansas State, Nebraska, Ohio and Colorado State.
