Each week, PowerMizzou.com gives fans the view of the football team from someone who has been there. This week, former defensive tackle Lorenzo Williams breaks down the Tigers' game against the Baylor Bears.

How much can one win change the mentality of a football team?

ZO: Like I said last week nothing beats winning. It gets your team back on the right track and it is definitely a way to get confidence and momentum back on your side. Good to see us get one last week... Now we need to keep it going this week.

I give you a thousand bucks and tell you that you HAVE to put it on somebody to win the Big 12 North. Who do you put it on?

ZO: Crazy as it sounds, you can call me a homer, but I think Mizzou is the team you bet on. Nebraska will lose this week and probably another one along the way. I think it comes down to us and the chicken hawks in arrowhead. That will be a monstrous game... AGAIN!

A lot of fans are talking about not wanting to win the North because you would get hammered by Texas anyway. Give me your thoughts on that.

ZO: That maybe true but winning the North is still a big deal. You want to keep those trophies coming in. Anything you can do to keep the edge you've built in recruiting is good. Winning the North and going to a good bowl game (and winning it) are the most important things for us to do right now. And who knows, Texas may be the best team in the nation but all we'd have to do is be the best team on the field that day.

Give me your analysis and prediction for this week's game.

ZO: Baylor can't beat us without their QB so I think we win and win big. I also think we put together a little more complete game than last week. Keep feeding Fitzgerald (Daneaio) and keep feeding the three-headed monster at running back and the defense will take care of the rest.

Off topic here. Basketball season starts Friday night. Are you a Tiger basketball fan or do you just follow the football team?

ZO: Huge basketball fan... I actually had a cousin that played for Coach Anderson at UAB and I loved his style then. I love it even more now. Love watching Mizzou basketball the hustle, the defense, the passion for the game... You don't see that everywhere. I think JT is a great leader and I expect a similar outcome as last year. It will be a little tougher task than last year because we won't sneak up on people like we did last year, so JT has to be able to manage a team that has the respect and trying to keep whether than trying to gain it. Chicken hawks will be tough to beat. But I believe even when we lose, we will run teams into the dirt and we won't lose often. Teams will remember playing the Tigers. So Big XII champs again possibly... Another Elite 8 is in the cards for Coach Anderson and his squad... Maybe even further.
