The 6-foot, 180-pound standout pulled the trigger following the Red Raiders' final camp of the summer. Even though he's held a Tech offer for three-plus months, Chandler opted to participate in the day's activities.
"I just came down to get in a little shape and see a school that I like," he said. "Try to show a little bit and see where I'm at with the other recruits in town and stuff."
The experience also allowed Chandler to see what it would be like playing for Red Raider secondary coach John Lovett.
"It was pretty fun working with Coach Lovett," Chandler said. "He's a funny dude. I liked it. It was pretty good."

Chandler had been building toward his commitment for several weeks. The three-star prospect began listing Tech as his leader in June, noting that the program's coaching staff made him "feel welcome as a player."
"They're just looking forward to seeing me come up there and play for them," Chandler said at the time. "The coaches are telling me I can be a big factor. I should get to play a lot my freshman year and probably start my sophomore year because all the corners are going to be seniors by the time I get up there. And the grades are looking good. I picked it up the last part of the school year, so they're good."
