Decatur (Ga.) defensive end Corey Moon has some impressive offers already and should continue to add to that as he is set to tour several more college campuses this summer. There's a reoccurring theme on his list of favorites - they're all from the SEC.
"I'm on road trips to see what all teams I like. Most of them aren't camps, I'm visiting the colleges. UGA and Auburn, been to both of them. I think on Tuesday we are talking about Tennessee or South Carolina. I don't know know which one. We're going to all of them, but we're splitting them up. My coach is talking about waiting to go to Florida for one of my (official) visits."
Take the five colleges he mentions above, add another and you have his list.
"UGA, Auburn, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee and I'd say South Carolina. I couldn't really name them in order. If anything I would say UGA would be one of the top ones."
Out of that group Georgia, Auburn and Alabama have extended written offers. He also has several other offers at this time.
"North Carolina, Duke, Clemson and some other teams have offered me. Teams like Florida and Tennessee say they need to watch some tape or see me play in person and then they'll offer. I want to get all of my offers in to see who's interested and line them up in a row and see which one fits me best as a player and a person."
One thing you'll notice from his list, it's made up exclusively of teams from the SEC. When asked about that, Moon replied, "Yeah that's a dream of mine, to play football in the SEC. The best players play in the conference, you're always on TV, you play in big games. Yeah I want to sign to play in the SEC."
Last year, as a junior, he racked up 140 tackles, 23 tackles for loss and 12 sacks.
Those numbers earned him several pre-spring offers, however it was his performance at the Atlanta Nike Camp that sent his stock into the stratosphere. Rivals.com national recruiting analyst Jeremy Crabtree had this to say in his recap of the camp:
"Moon, 6-4, 235 pounds is very athletic and quick off the ball. He came in to the camp with a big reputation after a dominant junior season and lived up to it on Saturday. He also tested well running a 4.78 in the 40, jumped 28 inches in the vertical and did 19 reps on the bench."
