The Missouri Tigers open camp on August 4th, which is now just eight days away. Over these 25 days, PowerMizzou.com is counting down the 25 players on the roster who will be most influential in determining just how good the Tigers are this season. To be clear, this is not a list of the 25 best players on the roster. It is not a list of the players that will have the biggest seasons or put up the best numbers. In reverse order, we are counting down the 25 players who we think could have the most influence on the outcome of the 12 games on Missouri's 2007 schedule.

8. Dain Wise

The vitals: Dain Wise will open fall camp as the Tigers' starter at offensive right tackle. The sophomore from Oklahoma is replacing all-Big 12 lineman Joel Clinger on the offensive front.

Career so far: Wise was highly regarded out of high school and redshirted his first season on campus. He saw action in four games last season as a second-string tackle.

Why he's on the list: First of all, he is replacing the only all-Big 12 lineman the Tigers had last season. Second, he is good enough that the Tiger coaches felt comfortable enough to slide Kurtis Gregory over to guard. We have said it again and again and again: You cannot be good if you do not get good play out of your five guys up front. The other four have all seen significant action. It is not an insult, but a simple fact that Wise is probably the biggest question mark on the offensive line. He also probably has as much potential as any lineman on the roster. Wise does not have to be an all-Big 12 player like Clinger was, but he does have to have a solid season.
