The Washington State University men's hoop team proved they had short memories as they came off their worst defeat of the year and methodically rolled over the Montana State University Bobcats by the final score of 70-51 at Key Arena in Seattle.

In the first half, Montana State scored the first point of the game but Wazzu scored the next 10 points for an early10-1 lead behind the three-point shooting of senior Daven Harmeling, who ended up with 13 points. The Bobcats closed the gap to three at 14-11 but the Cougars gradually worked it back up the ladder as seniors Harmeling, Aron Baynes, Taylor Rochestie and Caleb Forrest scored the next 12 points and Wazzu took a 24-13 lead. From there, the Cougars held off the Bobcats and took a 30-18 lead into the locker room at halftime.

Wazzu opened the second half strong with Harmeling and freshman Klay Thompson hitting a pair of threes sandwiched around a bucket by Rochestie and the Cougars opened a 15-point lead and would never look back. Wazzu kept the Bobcats at bay for the rest of the second half as head coach Tony Bennett found playing time for nearly his entire bench, with Nick Witherill and Fabian Boeke getting in for garbage time minutes and Boeke recording his first trey of the year to score the last points of the game for the Cougars.

Four Cougars were in double digits, led by Thompson with 14 points, followed by Harmeling and then Rochestie with 11 and Forrest with 10. With the victory, Wazzu improves to 7-3 overall on the year.

Wazzu's next game is against Idaho at 7 pm on Sunday, December 21 at Beasley Coliseum in Pullman.
