Leaving in style

KANSAS CITY -- After 122 years of war, Missouri can finally claim victory.

Missouri (7-5, 4-4 Big 12) overcame a 10-3 halftime deficit to beat Kansas (2-10, 0-9) 24-10 in what may be the final installment of the team's annual Border Showdown -- the politically correct version of the Border War. The win moved Missouri ahead in the series according to all measures. Entering the game, Missouri claimed a 56-54-9 edge in the series, while Kansas said it was tied at 55-55-9.
