KU playing for fifth straight title

No. 9 ranked Kansas (24-5; 13-1) is on the verge of accomplishing the unimaginable. The Jayhawks, despite losing all five starters and a key reserve from last years National Championship team, are just one win away from gaining at least a share of their fifth straight Big 12 regular season championship. More shocking is the fact that Kansas, who is set to face Texas Tech (12-17; 2-12) at 8:30 CST on Wednesday night, might be more prepared to defend its National Championship than many expected at the beginning of the season. Bill Self has positioned his team to earn a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament if the chips fall correctly. However, the only thing Self and the Jayhawks are thinking about is their upcoming trip to Lubbock, Texas, where the Red Raiders anxiously wait their arrival.

Win is exactly what Collins and the Jayhawks have done this season. At times, they've do so in convincing fashion. The Jayhawks enter Wednesday night's showdown against Texas Tech having lost just one conference game.
