Shepard To Follow in Father's Footsteps?

There is no roster in the country chocked full of more famous football names than Oklahoma City Heritage Hall's and one that has gone too long unappreciated is Sterling Shepard, son of the late former Oklahoma Sooner and Dallas Cowboy wide receiver Derrick Shepard. While his father made a name for himself catching passes Shepard has built a reputation as being a multi-sport star for the Chargers.

The 5-foot-11, 175-pound prospect has played cornerback, safety, kick and punt returner, quarterback aside from following in his father's footsteps catching passes.

And while most of his teammates, coaches, and even fellow students have known who he was for quite some time he says that the work he has done has been because of his own expectations.

"No one has put any pressure on me. I mean people knew who I was and stuff but it was never anyone putting pressure on me to live up to anything," Shepard said. "I expect a lot from myself so anything that is expected of me, is from me."
