Cowboys Early Offer To Small
The Wyoming Cowboy football program is making early offers and continue to look in Texas for their next class of signees. One player who is receiving early interest from the Pokes is Cypress Woods High School defensive end and tight end prospect Cody Small.
Small brings some position versatility since he would be a candidate for either side of the ball. He would receive interest as both a tight end or defensive end at the next level, since he brings good speed with his 6-foot-4 and 228 pound frame.
The Cypress, Texas native attended the Houston Under Armour combine this spring while registering a 4.79 forty-yard dash time and the 29 inch vertical. It has helped him earn an offer to-date from Wyoming and Air Force.
Small says his experience playing in the competitive Texas ranks has helped him grow as a football player and should help him through the recruiting process heading into the 2012 signing day.
"I have been a varsity athlete on the Wildcat Football, Basketball and, track teams for 2 years," said Small. "Being part of these teams has been a very important part of my High School experience. It has taught me to be a team leader and player and how important it is to be one if I want my team to be successful."
While Small will continue to focus on helping his high school team this fall, he will also be looking to develop himself into a solid college prospect with Wyoming showing him early interest. He has little to say about his current interest from various colleges but will begin to focus more on his recruitment in the future.
"My Goals for my Senior Year include attending Football University's Top Gun Camp, being a team Captain of the Wildcat Football team, making the All District and All State Football Teams and to be nominated to play in the Army All American Bowl Game," said Small. "I would also like to continue my training so I can improve my 40 time as well as getting stronger."
Small is good in the classroom and wants to balance his athletics and academics in college.
"I am known to be a hard worker that will give 150% effort whether I am on the field, at practice, or in the weight room. This effort is also seen in the classroom and on the field," said Small. "I'd like to study Business, Physical Therapy and, Sports Medicine. While my major is unclear, I am positive that Football is in my future in college. It is my passion and goal. I am a key contributor and a stand out player."
