Pierschbacher visits Iowa
Highly recruited Class of 2014 offensive lineman Ross Pierschbacher was among the prospects at Kinnick Stadium for Iowa's game against Penn State on Saturday night. We caught up with the 6-foot-4, 275-pound Cedar Falls native to talk about the visit, where he is headed to next, and much more.
Q: Who did you go down to Iowa with yesterday and what all did you get to do?
PIERSCHBACHER: I went with my dad and my sister and we got down there at about 3 o'clock. We walked around and my dad had some friends down there that were tailgating so we went and met up with them for a little bit. Then we went to the indoor facility at 4 o'clock and ate there. After that, we met with the strength coach, Coach Doyle, and they showed us around the facilities. Then we went down to the field.
Q: What did you think of the atmosphere at the game?
PIERSCHBACHER: It was cool. They didn't play very well, so I'm sure the atmosphere wasn't as good as it could have been, but it was definitely a cool experience.
Currently, Pierschbacher holds scholarship offers from Iowa, Iowa State, Wisconsin, Notre Dame, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Boise State, and Northern Iowa. Other schools showing interest include Alabama, Michigan, Oregon, and Stanford, among others.
