Criswell adds options for Tigers
The guidelines for Tony Criswell are pretty clear-cut. When he takes a shot, there is only one expectation.
"As long as he makes them, I'm okay," head coach Frank Haith said with a smile. "If you want to take it, just make it."
"No pressure there," Criswell said. "He doesn't really want me taking deep threes early in the shot clock, but I mean, when the shot clock is under 15 and I'm open, he said I can take it."
The senior forward is not Missouri's top offensive option. But he just may be the top option in the frontcourt. In eight games so far this season, Criswell is averaging 6.4 points and 5.3 rebounds, both figures good for second among frontcourt players for the Tigers. In Missouri's last three games, wins over West Virginia, UCLA and Western Michigan, Criswell has totaled 22 points and 19 rebounds in 67 minutes of action.
"I think his last game was very good," Haith said. "When Tony is playing like he played the other day (against Western Michigan), he's a really good player and he really helps us.
"We're a different team when Tony plays that way."
