Practice report: Two-a-days open

The Tigers started two-a-days on Thursday. The opening practice this morning offered not only another chance to watch the team in full pads, but also a respite from the triple-digit heat. There were even a few raindrops during the workout. Enough with the weather report, here's what happened on the field:

*Cornelius Brown, heretofore known as Pig, is running second team at safety. He is behind William Moore on the depth chart.

"He's really, we've moved him up to number two already," said head coach Gary Pinkel. "He's been absolutely outstanding."

*Brown's play also allowed Mizzou to move Paul Simpson back to cornerback, which is where he played at Chabot Community College.

Simpson was the second-stringer at safety and with Hardy Ricks out injured, is running second-team at corner with Trenile Washington.
