Powerhouse program has powerhouse tackle

For all the talk of Jameel Owens one player that has been relatively quiet with the recruiting talk could be yet another in the long line of talented Oklahoma prep defensive tackles, Jenks, Okla. Tony Gillespiep.

From Lee Roy Selmon to Tony Casillas and most recently Gerald McCoy the Sooner state has a rich history of producing dominating interior defensive linemen. Gillespie has all the makings of being the next in line as he dominates one 6A opponent after another.

This past weekend it was Owens' No. 1 ranked Roughers who fell victim to Gillespie's mighty Trojans, 28-3.

However, long before this past weekend schools across the country took notice of the 6-foot-1, 290-pound Gillespie.

"I've been getting mail from schools like Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Notre Dame, Texas A&M, North Carolina, UCLA," Gillespie said. "There are some others but those are just some of the ones that were kind of sitting here. I get 10 or so letters a day.
