Nebraska 2008 running back lands first offer

Running back Collins Okafor, a promising 2008 prospect from Westside High School in Omaha, is starting to draw the attention of more than one Division-I football program, but the Nebraska Huskers are the first team out of the gate and he is more than just pleased.

Okafor confirmed to HuskersIllustrated.com that the Nebraska coaching staff had extended a written scholarship offer to him within just the past few days. It caught him by surprise, but he is elated to get that first offer so early. Nebraska is looking for him to play running back, the position that he prefers. His best 40-yard dash time is 4.56-seconds ("electronically"). He recorded a 33-inch vertical jump as a sophomore and his top bench press is approximately 215 pounds.
