Half of Sooners 2008 class among nation's best

According to Rivals.com, being a part of the Rivals250 is our verification that a player will at carry all-conference honors and could even be a player with high-round NFL potential and All-American type talent. So to see eight of Oklahoma's 16 current commitments as part of the latest update of the 250 has to be a vindication of Oklahoma fans thoughts on this high-profile class.

Of course leading the way were the Rivals100 members, Jermie Calhoun, Stephen Good, and R.J. Washington. Calhoun moved up a spot, while Good and Washington dropped a few spots.

"We had started to drop Calhoun a little bit and then went back and watched his video again and actually decided we had him too low," Rivals100.com editor Jeremy Crabtree said. "He is one of those guys the more you watch him, the more you appreciate how multi-faceted he is."

While the moves of Washington and Good met quite a bit of disappointed clamor from Sooner fans, particularly in the case of the 6-foot-5, 300-pound Paris, Texas offensive tackle, Crabtree came to explain things.
