Herman talks about his decision

Still reeling from a 31-6 loss to Purdue this weekend, the Hawkeyes received some good news on Sunday when versatile athlete Brad Herman gave his verbal commitment. We caught up with the 6-foot-5, 220-pound Herman, who hails from Metamora, Illinois, to talk about his decision and much more.

Q: First, how did the visit go today?

HERMAN: Today, I got a better feel than I did during the Illinois game as far as just sitting down with the coaches and just getting to know them. I got a better academic feel too. Q: Can you talk about how you told them your decision?

HERMAN: It was at the end of our conversation. I was sitting there and my dad asked if there was anything else I have to say. I kind of hesitated for a second, but then I got a big smile on my face and said I want to be a Hawkeye. I just feel really good about it.
