Irvin solidifies commit during official visit
Coffeyville (Kan.) Community College cornerback Blair Irvin was one of 12 top prospects that visited Auburn this weekend.
Irvin, who committed to the Tigers this summer, said he was particularly impressed with the atmosphere at Tiger Walk and inside Jordan-Hare Stadium.
He rated his visit a 10 on a scale of 1 to 10.
"It went well. I enjoyed it," said Irvin. "It was a good atmosphere. Alabama-Auburn, you can't ask for anything better than that. The coaches are great, the players are real cool and I just loved the environment.
"I had chill bumps from earlier in that day to the night."
The 5-foot-11, 180-pound Irvin has played receiver and corner and returned punts at Coffeyville, but he expects to play cornerback at Auburn.
Irvin has developed a strong relationship with AU defensive coordinator and secondary coach Will Muschamp.
"They are losing so many top guys at corner and he needs someone to come in, a JUCO player to step up and be a leader," said Irvin. "Hopefully, I can play that role."
Irvin officially visited Kansas State last weekend. After entering the weekend about 50-50 between AU and KSU, he's leaving Auburn surer of his commitment.
