Michigan sleeper visits the Hawkeyes

After earning first team all-state honors this past season, Jason Semmes is steadily picking up more college interest. This past weekend, the 6-foot-3, 218-pound Semmes, who attends St. Mary's in Orchard Lake, Michigan, made his first official visit with a trip to the University of Iowa.

The Hawkeyes have yet to offer Semmes, but along with other schools, they like his playmaking ability on defense, which led to 7.5 sacks and 15 TFL this past season. The only question that remains is if he is a defensive end or a linebacker at the next level.

Yesterday, Semmes received an in-home visit from Purdue defensive coordinator Brock Spack and has one scheduled with Iowa for tomorrow. On Friday, the two-star prospect will make his way to West Lafayette for his next official visit.
