KU gets back on track

A disappointing loss to Oklahoma State on Saturday dropped the Kansas Jayhawks (25-3, 10-3) out of first place in the Big 12. A 75-64 win over Iowa State (14-14, 4-9) in Ames, IA was just what the doctor ordered for KU, who has had an up and down stretch since their Jan. 31 loss to Kansas State. Darrell Arthur led the Jayhawks with 18 points and 10 rebounds. It was a game of runs, as KU built a 13-point halftime lead which would eventually reach 22 points midway through the second half, only to see the Cyclones fight back to within 10 down the stretch. Next up for KU is rematch with K-State in Lawrence, Kan., as ESPN's College Gameday will be on hand.

With the conference title on the line, KU simply cannot afford to lose another game. An important road with over Iowa State certainly leaves Kansas behind Texas for the title race, but puts them into position to take over the lead in the standings should UT drop a game.
