Spring preview: Pressure to perform

Missouri opens spring football practice on March 11th, just three days from now. Over the next week, will be previewing the most anticipated spring in school history from every possible angle. Over the last week, we have previewed every position on the team. Today, we take a look at five players who need to have a big spring or risk getting lost in the shuffle:

He has had more than a year to get used to the new position and needs to have a strong spring to set himself up for significant playing time in 2008 and a possible starting role in 2009.

Hardy Ricks: Ricks was hurt last year and moved to safety, which is where many people thought he was a better fit all along due to his physical nature. The Tigers have a lot of talent there with guys like Del Howard and Gilbert Moye not even assured of a spot on the two deep. They also signed a very well thought of defensive back class this year. Ricks needs to have a strong spring and show that he can be as good as many thought he looked last fall.
