A slight change of plans for Robinson
Since committing in January, Adam Robinson was always going to be a Hawkeye, it was just a matter of when. Originally a grayshirt recruit, he was going to wait and start working with the Iowa football program in early 2009, but recently those plans have changed and he will be in camp this August instead. Robinson talks about the changes and much more.
Q: When did you get the news this week?
ROBINSON: About two days ago, Coach Morgan gave me a call. He had called me actually about a week ago and told me that they were deciding whether to offer me the scholarship or give it to a walk-on and he said he wouldn't know until the next week. Then he called me on Thursday and told me I was being offered.
Q: What was your reaction once you heard the news?
ROBINSON: I was really excited. I was running around the house I was so pumped up. That was kind of my main goal was to get bumped up once I was offered the grayshirt, so I was real excited.
Q: Does that kind of change your plans for this summer and everything?
ROBINSON: Yeah. I was still going to lift and workout this summer individually, but now I'm going to Iowa City on June 8 and I'll live with Jordan (Bernstine) and workout with the team and get acclimated to college football.
Q: Are you going to spend most of the summer in Iowa City?
ROBINSON: Yeah, I'll spend about a month and a half down there and then I'll come back for the Shrine Bowl and play in that before August camp starts.
