The Forgotten Freshman
With just over 11 minutes remaining in the first half of Sunday's game against Marquette, Marcus Denmon set up behind the arc as he caught a pass from DeMarre Carroll.
His release was quick and true. The three pointer turned a 17-13 game into a one-point contest, silencing Marquette players and fans alike.
But that shot was quickly forgotten. Kim English scored 13 points in a row, turning a one-point deficit into a seven-point lead less than four minutes later. Denmon only attempted two shots from that point on, missing both. And, with the game on the line, Missouri coach Mike Anderson decided to ride English's hot hand, sending the 68% free-throw shooter to the line to take J.T. Tiller's shots.
