Granger checks out Missouri
While the Missouri in-state Class of 2011 has garnered national attention, there are a number of younger prospects who are turning the heads of college coaches as well. One such player is McCluer North junior Jordon Granger.
The 6-foot-8, 185-pound Granger already claims nine scholarship offers. A number of mid-major programs have jumped in with offers in addition to the Arkansas Razorbacks. Granger says he's not close to narrowing his list down.
"I'm not at that point yet," Granger said. "Other than the academics, I will look at my relationship with the coaching staff. That's the most important thing, if I can come in and play as soon as I get there."
At 6-foot-8, Granger has the size of a power forward, but the game of a wing player.
"Being my size, my ability to handle the ball and shoot," Granger says of what coaches like about him. "They can put me at all different positions, from a power forward to a wing."
One program who has taken notice of Granger's abilities is Missouri. He was on campus for an unofficial visit two weeks ago.
"I really like Missouri. They have a nice program, the coaches were really nice and they play hard," he said. "They said they are very interested. Coach Anderson said he was going to come by my school in the next week or so. Hopefully I will get an offer when he visits."
Along with the Tigers, major programs like Arizona, Tennessee and Illinois have shown interest. And Arkansas already has a commitment from his high school teammate, B.J. Young.
"Arkansas is cool. I'd like to take a visit down there," Granger said. "B.J. and I are real cool, we're always hanging out together."
Don't expect a quick decision, but Granger is a Show-Me State star to watch over the next few months. PowerMizzou.com will keep Tiger fans up to date with developments in his recruitment.
